Heat Pipeline and Carbon-Neutral Heating Supply

Since October 2023, LAYERTEC has been utilizing renewable energy to meet its heating needs. At our locations on Ernst-Abbe-Weg 1 and Enge Gasse 160a, over 300 MWh of thermal energy has been delivered through a newly constructed energy pipeline between October 2023 and January 2024. This amount of energy corresponds to the annual consumption of approximately 15 single-family homes.

This transition marks a significant milestone in our strategy to enhance supply and cost security, as well as to improve ecological sustainability. This initiative has been made possible through funding from the Federal Government’s "Federal Funding for Efficient Heating Networks (BEW)" program.
