CO₂-Neutral Cooling Supply

Since April 2024, LAYERTEC has been generating part of the required process cooling through two adsorption cooling systems. Each system has a cooling capacity of 120 kW. These systems are operated using excess heat from the biogas plant of Agrargenossenschaft Mellingen. Our demand profile for the necessary process cooling perfectly matches the excess heat from the combined heat and power units of the biogas plant. Therefore, no additional heat needs to be generated for the process.

LAYERTEC saves electrical energy and costs, significantly increasing the efficiency of the biogas plant. This initiative is funded by the Federal Government under the "Federal Funding for Efficient Heating Networks (BEW)" program.
